Exhibition of Israeli Artists, Jerusalem.

“Shmuel Bonneh’s extremely talented triptych “Jerusalem Festival” vies for pride of place with the works of Gross. The triptych is absolutely figurative, with an atmosphere that is rather surrealist due to the enlarged images, the houses that have been inverted, reminiscent of Chagall, and the distorted perspective intended to align all sections of the work on different planes. In spite of the festive Jewish table, the architectonic sense is rather Italian (and indeed there is an Italian element in the architecture of some areas of this city)”.
